Disgraced Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been seen in public with a noticeable bruise on his cheek after weeks out of the spotlight. The former Duke of York was photographed driving near his new residence in Sandringham, sporting a prominent red mark on his face.
This sighting marks Andrew’s first public appearance following a security incident while he was walking his dogs near his home. In a separate event in May, the ex-prince encountered a man wearing a balaclava and allegedly carrying a weapon, prompting Andrew to retreat to safety with his security team.
The man involved in the incident pleaded not guilty and is scheduled for trial in July, during which Andrew is expected to provide evidence remotely. Additionally, police are investigating allegations of inappropriate behavior by Andrew towards a woman at Royal Ascot in 2002, although it is unclear when the claim was reported.
Thames Valley Police stated that they are pursuing all leads in their inquiry into potential misconduct by Andrew, including allegations of sexual misconduct. The force has urged witnesses to come forward to assist in the investigation.
Andrew, who served as the UK’s special representative for international trade and investment, has denied all accusations of wrongdoing. He was arrested on his birthday in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office and remains under investigation.
