“Southampton Protesters Face Charges for Assaulting Police”

Date:

A protester named Henry Nowak was involved in an incident where he threw a traffic cone at police officers during a protest in Southampton. Connor Bishop, 24, faced charges of violent disorder for throwing a traffic cone at police officers during the same protest. Bishop, who refused to appear in court and was described as crying in the cells, had his lawyer enter a guilty plea on his behalf.

Noah Etherington, 18, admitted to violent disorder for throwing a brick towards officers, while Reece Robinson, 21, also pleaded guilty to violent disorder for throwing objects at police. The prosecution highlighted Bishop’s involvement in the protest, mentioning that he was seen throwing items at police officers.

At a separate hearing, Daniel Frost, 44, admitted to charges of violent disorder and possessing an offensive weapon for his actions during the protest. Frost, who has a history of previous convictions, will face further proceedings at the crown court. Another individual, Matt Styler, denied assaulting an emergency worker during the protest and is currently in custody awaiting further court appearances.

All individuals involved in the protest-related incidents were remanded in custody. The next court hearings for the protesters are scheduled to take place at Southampton Crown Court. The court proceedings follow a series of events where protesters engaged in violent actions against law enforcement officers during the protest in Southampton.
