A woman has been taken into custody on suspicion of manslaughter following the discovery of a deceased man and multiple dogs at a residence in West Derby.
Merseyside Police reported that law enforcement officials responded to a call around 6:10 pm on Friday regarding the passing of a male in his 70s at a property on Coachmans Drive. The circumstances surrounding the death are currently unidentified, with investigations ongoing to ascertain the complete situation.
Authorities have apprehended a 55-year-old female from West Derby on suspicion of manslaughter, mistreatment or neglect of an individual by a caregiver, and inflicting unwarranted harm on an animal. She has been conditionally released pending further investigation.
Upon arrival at the residence, emergency services discovered several dogs inside the house, some of which had tragically perished. According to the Liverpool Echo, a police vehicle has been stationed outside the property with a tent from the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service positioned on the driveway.
The police force stated that a post-mortem examination has been conducted, and toxicology tests are currently in progress. Efforts are ongoing to locate the deceased man’s relatives, and authorities are urging any individuals with potential information to come forward.
