The daughter of a teacher who was reportedly drugged and fatally assaulted shared a heartbreaking update following the arrest of four family members. Sunil Sharma, a mathematics educator from Melbourne, Australia, went missing while in Amritsar, India, last month to supervise property renovations. Authorities suspect that his brother may have murdered him amid a property dispute.
Although the Australian man’s body has not been found, four individuals have been apprehended in connection with the case. Indian police allege that Sunil’s brother, Satish Sharma, drugged him with sleeping pills and then attacked him with a baseball bat, resulting in his death. It is believed that the victim’s body was disposed of in a canal.
Subsequently, Sunil’s daughter expressed her grief on social media, emphasizing her father’s innocence in the tragic incident. She urged for maximum punishment for all involved in the meticulously planned crime. The devastated daughter also acknowledged the support received from her father’s school community, highlighting his impact as a beloved math teacher.
Senior Superintendent of Police in Amritsar, Kanwalpreet Singh, stated that the brother’s actions were driven by greed and fraudulent intentions. He revealed that the perpetrators attempted to cover up the crime and engage in property fraud following Sunil’s demise. Additional arrests have been made, with authorities seeking two more suspects involved in the incident.
A spokesperson from Victoria’s education department and the school where Sunil worked extended condolences to his family and remembered him as a dedicated member of the academic community.
