“Vehicle crash into bowling alley injures pedestrians”

Date:

Three pedestrians were injured when a vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a bowling alley following a collision in Derby Road, Ilkeston. The incident resulted in the closure of the road for five hours.

Derbyshire police have charged Callum Thompson of Ilkeston with multiple offenses including criminal damage, recklessly endangering life, failing to provide a specimen for analysis, assault, and causing serious injury by dangerous driving in connection to the incident. The 21-year-old suspect is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear at Derby Magistrates’ Court on June 15.

Images from the scene depicted the extensive damage caused by the car crashing into the venue. Derbyshire Fire and Rescue, in a statement, mentioned their presence at the MFA Bowl to assist the police, with Derby Road being closed for an extended period as a result of the incident.

The structural integrity of the building was evaluated due to the significant damage caused by the vehicle. MFA Bowl officials announced the temporary closure of the site, citing circumstances beyond their control. They expressed gratitude towards the emergency services for their swift response and the community for their support during this challenging time.
