Wife of Executed Rapper Kisses Him for First Time

Date:

The wife of a death row rapper from Britain shared a touching moment with her husband after his execution, marking their first physical contact. Tiana Broadnax witnessed her husband, James, being put to death with a lethal injection in April, nearly 18 years after he was found guilty of killing two Christian music producers in 2008. Following the execution, Tiana was able to kiss her husband for the first time while viewing his body.

In the days leading up to his death, photos captured Tiana and James exchanging vows behind bulletproof glass in a high-security US prison. Their relationship, which lasted 18 months, culminated in James’ tragic death despite Tiana’s desperate pleas for clemency.

Reflecting on the poignant moment, Tiana described touching James’ skin in a Texas chapel just 40 minutes after his passing, the very place where they had hoped to marry. Recalling James’ wish to marry properly upon his release, Tiana expressed her sorrow at having to witness his lifeless body in the church aisle instead.

Their unconventional engagement involved daily conversations through a tablet in James’ prison cell, leading to a heartfelt proposal during Tiana’s first visit. Despite the physical barriers, their interactions were filled with laughter and shared meals, creating special moments amidst the restrictions.

Tiana emphasized that her feelings for James were genuine, rooted in his kindness, respect, and patience. She delved into James’ troubled upbringing, substance abuse struggles, and the questionable circumstances of his trial, which attracted scrutiny for alleged racial bias in the justice system.

Despite efforts by prominent rappers and new evidence implicating James’ cousin in the murders, James’ appeals for clemency were denied, leading to his execution. Tiana, now haunted by the traumatic experience, is determined to clear James’ name posthumously and advocate against the death penalty, using her story to fight for justice and honor her late husband’s memory.

In her quest for justice, Tiana has reached out to political figures and vows to continue her fight for change, echoing her late husband’s spirit of perseverance and resilience.
