Kensington Palace has not confirmed William’s World Cup plans yet.
During England’s World Cup opener against Croatia, William wished the team luck and expressed excitement for the tournament. Speculations about him visiting the US in early July to coincide with Independence Day celebrations seem unlikely due to the sensitive UK-US relations following Donald Trump’s criticisms of Prime Minister Keir Starmer over the Iraq War.
William has skipped previous World Cups, including in Qatar in 2022 and Russia in 2018, citing busy schedules and controversial host countries. While he did not attend the Lionesses’ World Cup final in Australia in 2023, he traveled to Switzerland in 2025 to support the team in the Euros. Prince Harry represented the royal family at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
