The scam is sophisticated, using urgent language and appearing to originate from an official O2 number, making it harder to detect as fake.
For those with O2 SIM cards, it is crucial to be vigilant. The message states, “O2UK: IMPORTANT: Your SIM Card(s) will be inactive on 04/06/2026, because you have NOT signed our Terms and Conditions. Logon to sign.” Additionally, the message contains a link leading to a fake website aimed at stealing personal information, potentially enabling scammers to access accounts and compromise passwords.
Customers who receive such messages should avoid clicking on any links and instead access their accounts through the official O2 platforms or contact the network directly to verify the message’s authenticity.
