An 11-year-old child was hospitalized in Blackburn after being stabbed in the back, leading to the arrest of another 11-year-old individual.
The incident occurred in the Fishmoor Drive area of Blackburn, Lancashire, just before 7 pm on Monday. Emergency services, including an air ambulance, responded to reports of the stabbing. The victim sustained a puncture wound to the back and was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment.
The suspected assailant, also 11 years old, was arrested on suspicion of assault. Following the arrest, the individual was released on bail while further investigations are conducted. Fortunately, the victim’s injury was determined to be less severe than initially feared and was deemed non-life-threatening.
According to a spokesperson from Lancashire Constabulary, the authorities were alerted to the stabbing incident and promptly attended the scene. The injured 11-year-old boy was transported to the hospital after sustaining a single puncture wound to the back.
