Authorities have discovered a body, suspected to be that of a 14-year-old girl, in a park in Wales, initiating a homicide investigation.
The body was found in the Duffryn Park area of Blaina in Wales on the evening of Monday, June 22. Although formal identification is pending, it is presumed to be the missing girl named Lilly.

Gwent Police issued an appeal for information on the missing teenager on the afternoon of Monday, June 22, noting her last sighting on High Street, Blaina, on Saturday, June 20. Described as white, approximately 5ft6in in height, with medium build and long black hair, the girl was last seen wearing a long black dress and black sandals and had connections to Brynmawr, a town north of Blaina.
Local Councilor Lisa Catherine Winnett expressed the community’s profound distress over the tragic outcome, offering sympathy to Lilly’s family during this difficult time.
Winnett emphasized the impact on the close-knit Blaina community and acknowledged the extensive search efforts by family, friends, and community members. She commended the search operations and expressed the shock felt by everyone involved.
No arrests have been made yet, and local officials indicated uncertainty regarding any prior connection between the perpetrator and Lilly.
