A security guard at Tesco tragically passed away after choking on a doughnut while on duty. Mohamed Nassar, 57, was working at the Tesco Express store in Manchester when the incident occurred. He collapsed on the shop floor after choking while eating a doughnut to take his medication, causing distress among his colleagues and customers.
Despite being resuscitated by paramedics and taken to the hospital, Mohamed suffered severe brain damage as his heart stopped for 23 minutes. He never regained consciousness and eventually passed away on June 21, after his ventilation was withdrawn 44 days later.
Originally from London, Mohamed and his family had moved to Ardwick in Manchester in 2020. He was a former musician and had been working for a security company for approximately five years.
Following his death, Mohamed’s family expressed their devastation and thanked the community for their support and prayers during his hospitalization. They emphasized the financial challenges they are facing and the ongoing search for legal assistance. They fondly remembered Mohamed as a beloved family member and friend, highlighting his caring and selfless nature.
The manager of the Tesco store where Mohamed worked also paid tribute to him, expressing deep sadness over his passing. A fundraiser was initiated by the family to cover funeral expenses and provide financial support as they mourn their loss.
