“Woman with Dog Sought in Homicide Probe”

Date:

Authorities have publicized fresh surveillance footage as part of the investigation into the killing of an individual whose body was discovered within a nature reserve.

Investigators are seeking to locate a woman who was observed walking a dog in Southampton Common, suggesting that she may possess details crucial to their inquiries. This renewed appeal follows the finding of the remains of Ernest Konrad Deputat, aged 45, at Ornamental Lake in Southampton Common on October 8.

Law enforcement noted evidence of a significant blaze at the site and promptly initiated a homicide investigation. Two individuals detained in connection with the case have been released on bail.

Officials believe that Mr. Deputat, a Polish national, had been residing off the grid in the common and was familiar within Southampton’s homeless population. Hampshire Police, unveiling the new CCTV footage, stated: “We suspect the woman depicted in this video, sighted walking a dog on Southampton Common on the morning of Saturday, September 6, might be able to provide us with assistance.

“We urge her, or anyone with knowledge of her identity, to contact us promptly. It is plausible that this woman has already been interviewed by investigators. Nevertheless, based on fresh information and progress in our probe, we wish to speak with her again.

“If you were present in the vicinity of Southampton Common on the morning of Saturday, September 6, we encourage you to reach out to us. We are especially keen to hear from dog walkers who have yet to come forward.

“Regardless of how trivial or insignificant you believe the information to be, it could be pivotal to our investigation. To contact us, please dial 101 and reference incident number 44250456238. Alternatively, you can submit a report online via the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary website.”

Following his demise, Mr. Deputat’s family described him as a “modest individual filled with dreams, a cherished brother and son” whose wit and warmth left a lasting impression on every encounter. They expressed: “Ernest, you were a modest person full of dreams, a beloved brother and son. Every interaction with you was unforgettable.

“Your smile, humor, and conversational ease drew people to you. The entire family missed you always and awaited your return.

“You chose the life you desired; you were both the vessel and the captain of your destiny. Be content now. We thank you for the cherished moments, every phone call, and every indication that you remembered us. Until we meet again, your Family.”
