Date:

England supporters have arrived in New York in anticipation of the upcoming World Cup clash against Panama. It is estimated that tens of thousands of fans will be present in New York by Friday, with around 25,000 expected to fill the stadium in New Jersey and the rest congregating in FanFests and bars in the bustling city.

A group of fans have secured tickets to watch Luke Littler and Luke Humphries compete in a darts tournament at Madison Square Garden before heading to witness Thomas Tuchel’s team in action. These passionate fans, with affiliations to Manchester United and Leeds United, share a love for major sporting events, having been spotted together at the Cheltenham races previously.

Tuchel and his team will travel from their base in Kansas City to New York on Friday, where the weather is forecasted to be around 23°C, providing a cool ambiance for the match. Fans who attended the previous England game in Boston have made their way to New York using various modes of transportation, flooding the city’s transportation hubs with their presence.

In a popular pub known as the “Football Factory” beneath the iconic Empire State Building, English fans gathered to watch other World Cup matches on television. Mark Harrison, a devoted supporter, expressed his excitement for the upcoming game and his hopes for England to top the group standings.

Another group of fans, including individuals from Derby, London, and Portsmouth, encountered a delay in their journey to New York due to a coach breakdown. Despite the challenges, these fans are enjoying their World Cup adventure across America, having attended previous matches in different states.

Ian Henderson, an England fan residing in New Jersey, highlighted the excitement among Three Lions supporters in the vibrant atmosphere of New York. He praised the MetLife venue, which will host the World Cup match, emphasizing its grandeur and capacity to accommodate a large number of fans.

If England secures a victory, they will lead their group and have a clear pathway towards the final, which will also take place at the same stadium as the upcoming match. The anticipation and enthusiasm among England fans in New York are palpable as they eagerly await the crucial World Cup showdown.
