“Police seek mother of deceased newborn found in warehouse”

Date:

Detectives are seeking assistance in locating the mother of a newborn infant whose lifeless body was discovered in a warehouse in the Black Country. The deceased baby, believed to be a girl, was found in a refuse heap at an industrial location in Rowley Regis on a Thursday morning.

It is reported that the waste containing the infant was inadvertently transported by a private waste management company to the site on Station Road the day before. The company operates in various regions including the West Midlands, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, and West Mercia, with authorities clarifying that there is no direct connection between the business and the tragic incident.

Law enforcement officials are conducting investigations, including forensic examinations, to identify the infant and determine the circumstances surrounding her death. Additionally, they are actively seeking the mother of the baby, expressing concerns for her well-being and potential need for medical or support services.

Authorities have issued a plea for anyone who may have noticed a loved one exhibiting unusual behavior recently to come forward with information. Detective Chief Inspector Kylie Westlake emphasized the importance of locating the mother, emphasizing her immediate need for assistance and care.

Efforts to identify the mother have been intensified, with a Major Incident Public Portal established for the public to provide any relevant details directly to the police.
