A portable cot highly popular among parents has been urgently recalled due to serious safety concerns that could lead to injury or even death.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) issued a recall for the 5-in-1 nursery center portable cot, which serves as a bassinet, bed, sleeper, baby crib, activity center, and changing table. This cot, available for purchase on Amazon and Costway Wholesale, poses a risk of entrapment and suffocation, potentially endangering infants placed inside.
According to the ACCC, the product does not meet the mandatory standards for infant sleep items, increasing the risk of entrapment and suffocation, as an incident has already been reported.
Parents are urged to verify the model number or SKU of their portable cots to check for a match with SKU: BB0505. If the product corresponds to the recalled SKU, parents should discontinue use immediately and return it to the original point of purchase for a free replacement.
Additionally, a baby snowsuit has also been recalled due to a hazardous defect. The quilted snowsuits, sold in pink florals and cream bears, were available nationally online and in Best and Less stores between April 16 and June 11.
The recall was initiated due to faulty snap fasteners on the snowsuits, which could detach during use, posing a choking hazard to children if swallowed. The affected SKUs are 1922326, 1922327, 1922328, 1922329, 1922330, 1922331, 1922334, 1922335, 1922336, 1922337, 1922338, and 1922339.
Consumers who purchased these snowsuits are advised to stop using them immediately and keep them out of reach of children. The snowsuits can be returned to any Best and Less store for a full refund.
