A father shared the heartbreaking moment when his four children, along with their mother and grandmother, were discovered deceased in an apparent poisoning incident at their residence in Mechanicville, New York. The six victims were identified as Amy Steadman, 64, her daughter Sarah Myers, 44, and four grandchildren – Harper, 13, Hudson, 11, and Gavin and Gracelynn, both 10.
The grim finding was made by law enforcement officers responding to a welfare check. Police Chief William Rabbitt of the Mechanicville Police Department disclosed that evidence pointed to intentional poisoning, with one child also having fatal blunt-force injuries. A note found at the scene, combined with other evidence, strongly indicated Amy Steadman’s involvement.
The father, Brady Harmon, revealed details of a custody dispute with Sarah Myers, noting that the children were supposed to spend the summer with him in Utah. Brady and Myers had married in 2015 but separated four years later. His last contact with the children was on June 7, after Myers informed him that they were unwell.
Expressing his shock and grief, Brady recounted efforts to check on his sick children and prepare for their visit to Utah. He described his children as joyful and creative, each sharing their unique interests with him.
Brady learned about the tragic incident just before Father’s Day, expressing disbelief at the cruelty inflicted upon innocent children. Despite Steadman’s ex-husband affirming her love for the children, Brady suggested Myers’ involvement in the deaths, citing past conflicts and custody battles.
