“Explosion in Monaco Injures Ukrainian Billionaire”

Date:

An explosion in Monaco has left three individuals injured, all of whom are believed to be Ukrainian nationals. The incident occurred shortly after 9pm on Monday, June 29, on Rue du Révérend Père Louis Frolla. Among the victims is a prominent Ukrainian billionaire oligarch identified as Vadim Ermolaev by local sources. Ermolaev, one of Ukraine’s wealthiest individuals, reportedly left the country following recent conflicts with Russia. The other victims include a middle-aged woman and a teenage boy.

Authorities in Monaco are currently on the lookout for a suspect. Surveillance footage captured a man dropping a backpack at a residential building entrance just before the explosion. The suspected individual, seen in social media images, was wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, a bucket hat, and khaki pants.

Despite ongoing investigations, the suspect’s identity remains undisclosed. Security cameras have tracked the suspect’s movements through Monaco and to Beausoleil. Police reinforcements from the Nice Anti-Crime Squad, along with emergency response units from Nice and Menton, have been dispatched to the Beausoleil area.

The Minister of State in Monaco has labeled the incident as a probable attack, noting that the explosive device likely contained shrapnel and bolts. He mentioned that law enforcement is actively collecting evidence. This event marks a historic first for the Principality, according to the Minister of State.
