Two individuals successfully ascended to the summit of the Empire State Building in New York City and hoisted a large banner, culminating in a romantic proposal. The duo, donned in masks, were identified as a man and a woman as they scaled the broadcast antenna perched atop the iconic structure earlier today.
Upon reaching the pinnacle of the antenna, towering 443 meters (1,454 feet) above the bustling streets of New York, the pair unveiled a substantial banner bearing the message: “When the power of love beats the love of power the world knows peace,” as reported by CBS news.
Following their daring feat of climbing the radio and television transmission tower, the pair commenced their descent. As they descended to a lower platform, the man knelt down and tenderly proposed to the woman. The couple shared a heartfelt embrace, with the woman removing her mask for a kiss.
Authorities dispatched a police helicopter to the location, prompting the pair to begin their descent around 12:35 pm local time. Initially, the observation deck beneath the mast and platform where the proposal took place was teeming with spectators, but it was subsequently evacuated.
