“Mother Rescued from Mud Saves Daughter on Vacation”

Date:

A mother expressed gratitude after being rescued by lifeboat crews when she became stuck in mud up to her waist while on vacation. Kadassi Nembhard, 33, found herself trapped in the harbour in Whitby on the last day of her holiday while trying to save her three-year-old daughter who had started sinking at the water’s edge.

The Whitby Coastguard commended her for staying calm and seeking help promptly, which minimized the potential for further harm. They assisted her to the boathouse where she could change into dry clothes and continue her day after the distressing experience.

Despite two bystanders getting stuck themselves while trying to help, it took about 30 minutes for RNLI rescuers to free the mother from the mud. She later expressed her appreciation for their assistance. Kadassi, a stay-at-home mom from Darwen, Lancashire, recalled the panic she felt as she realized she was trapped in the mud within minutes of the incident.

The mother highlighted that everything seemed normal when the children were playing at the beach initially, but the situation quickly turned alarming when her daughter began sinking. Despite the frightening experience, she managed to stay composed and sought help promptly.

With the aid of emergency services and local assistance, Kadassi was eventually freed from the thick mud after a challenging ordeal. She described the individuals who came to her rescue as heroes, acknowledging their crucial role in ensuring her safety during the incident.
