A pregnant woman in Washington State, US was forced into induced labor after being viciously attacked by two dogs. Renee Wilson sustained severe injuries while trying to protect her chihuahua, Katie Girl, from the loose dogs. Emergency responders were called to the scene and Renee was initially taken to a local hospital before being transferred to Tacoma General Hospital for further treatment.
During the attack, Renee bravely intervened to shield her chihuahua from the aggressive dogs, resulting in her sustaining injuries to her arm and belly. The dogs continued to attack her, dragging her to the ground by her hair as she screamed for help. Neighbors came to her aid, with one man using a broom and a frightened woman stepping in to assist despite her fear of the dogs.
In a harrowing moment captured on a neighbor’s Ring camera, Renee can be heard pleading for help as the dogs growl and bark. Due to the severity of her injuries, doctors had to induce labor, and her son, Armani, was born unharmed. Renee, who was originally due to give birth on the day of the incident, is recovering in the hospital until she regains her mobility and the infection from the attack subsides.
The dogs responsible for the attack, an American pit bull terrier and an American bully, were captured and placed under a 10-day quarantine by Tacoma Animal Control. The authorities have deemed both dogs as “dangerous” animals, and their owners are facing charges for failing to license the dogs and allowing them to roam freely, resulting in fines totaling $2,000. The owners have the option to appeal the decision within 10 days, failing which the dogs may be euthanized.
Renee intends to pursue legal action against the owners of the dogs for the damages she suffered. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of responsible pet ownership and the potential consequences of dogs being allowed to roam unrestrained.
