A tragic accident claimed the lives of a seven-year-old girl and a woman following a single-vehicle collision on the A3 southbound carriageway near the Hindhead Tunnel. The incident occurred just after 10 am on Thursday, February 19.
The victims, a 43-year-old woman, and the young girl, both residents of Portsmouth, were pronounced dead at the scene after their red Ford Fiesta veered off the road. The A3 was closed for several hours post-accident, with Hampshire police appealing for witnesses and any dashcam footage related to the crash.
Expressing condolences, social media users shared messages of sympathy for the bereaved family. Meanwhile, in a separate incident in Corpach near Fort William in the Scottish Highlands, a man and a teenage boy were discovered dead in a burned-out car. The authorities responded to reports of a car fire at around 3 am on Saturday and found the victims within the vehicle. Formal identification is pending, but the families of a 16-year-old and a 44-year-old have been notified.
