A woman in her twenties was taken to the hospital after a hit-and-run incident in Birmingham. The pedestrian was crossing Foxton Road in Alum Rock when she was struck by a silver hatchback around 1:30 pm on Monday. The driver of the car did not slow down or check on the injured woman before leaving the scene.
Bystanders came to the woman’s aid as she sustained serious injuries. Emergency services responded to the scene, providing treatment before transporting her to Heartlands Hospital. West Midlands Police is conducting an investigation to locate the driver, urging anyone with information to come forward.
The police stated that the woman’s injuries are not life-threatening. Efforts are underway to identify the silver hatchback and its driver. In response to the incident, Zaheer Akbar and a local PCSO are establishing a ‘Speed Watch’ initiative to address reckless driving in the area following numerous complaints.
