A young man tragically lost his life after falling from Victoria Embankment during the intense June heatwave. Fletcher Beasley, a law and business student at Queensland University of Technology, passed away on June 25 after plummeting from a height following an evening spent with his girlfriend and friends.
According to a Metropolitan Police spokesperson, emergency services were alerted by the London Ambulance Service about the incident at 2.06 am. Despite the efforts of paramedics, the man in his 20s succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
In a touching tribute, Fletcher’s parents, Katrina and Matt Beasley, described him as a beloved son, brother, partner, and friend who was cherished by all who knew him. They highlighted his warm personality, sense of humor, loyalty, and curiosity about the world, emphasizing his active and generous nature.
Fletcher’s father has traveled from Australia to repatriate his son’s body, while a London coroner has initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Fletcher’s death. A GoFundMe campaign, the Fletcher Beasley Fund, has been set up to assist with the ongoing investigation and to provide support to the Beasley family and friends during this challenging time.
The fund aims to honor Fletcher’s memory by aiding his friends who were present in London at the time of the tragic incident.
