A young child is in critical condition after allegedly suffering severe head injuries from being vigorously shaken, as per recent accounts.
Authorities swiftly responded to a residence in Two Rocks, a locality located 38 miles north of Perth, Australia, last Thursday, as reported by the Daily Mail. They discovered an 11-month-old infant in critical condition and promptly transferred the child to Perth Children’s Hospital.
The infant is reportedly still hospitalized in Perth in critical condition. Subsequently, a 25-year-old man from Two Rocks was apprehended and charged with aggravated grievous bodily harm, as per news.com.au.
According to a spokesperson from the Western Australia Police, the man and the infant are related. The man was granted bail on Wednesday at Perth Magistrates Court and is scheduled for another court appearance on July 29.
The man’s identity has not been revealed at this time.
