A British teenager, described as “deeply loved,” has passed away following a fall from a balcony in Athens. The 17-year-old sustained severe injuries after the incident at a hotel in Chalandri, a district in the Greek capital, occurring around 5 am on July 3. Despite efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
The teenager suffered multiple wounds from a fall of approximately four meters and was rushed to Erythros Stavros Hospital in critical condition, as per local sources. Allegedly, he had purchased alcohol from a nearby kiosk with a companion.
In a statement released through the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, his family expressed profound grief over the loss of their cherished child. Described as an “exceptional guitarist” who spread joy wherever he went, the family mentioned the irreplaceable void left by his passing. They highlighted his warmth, spirit, and ability to bring happiness to others, emphasizing that he will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
Furthermore, the family emphasized the importance of obtaining a Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) for Britons traveling abroad, alongside insurance coverage. They stressed the significance of the GHIC in ensuring financial coverage for medical treatment in participating countries, particularly in state-run medical facilities.
As investigations continue, the family respectfully urged people and the media to refrain from speculation.
