Jordan Henderson Vows to Play in World Cup Final Despite Wrist Injury

Date:

Jordan Henderson commented that they would address the situation if England reaches the World Cup final. The 36-year-old midfielder suffered a broken wrist following England’s victory over Mexico. Henderson attempted to jump over an advertising hoarding during celebrations, resulting in the injury that required surgery.

Despite the setback, Henderson hinted at the possibility of playing under Thomas Tuchel this summer. He expressed gratitude for the medical team’s support and emphasized the team’s focus on winning and progressing. Looking ahead to the quarter-final against Norway, Henderson highlighted the need for resilience and overcoming obstacles.

England unveiled their new kits for the World Cup in collaboration with Nike. Henderson acknowledged the challenge of facing Erling Haaland but emphasized the team’s concentration and determination to advance. When asked about potentially playing in future matches, Henderson humorously stated, “We’ll cross that bridge if we come to it.”

Tuchel made adjustments to the starting lineup for the Norway match, with Ezri Konsa filling in at right-back. John Stones partnered with Marc Guehi in defense, while Declan Rice and Elliot Anderson featured in midfield. Noni Madueke replaced Bukayo Saka on the wing. The confirmed England starting lineup against Norway includes Pickford, O’Reilly, Guehi, Stones, Konsa, Anderson, Rice, Bellingham, Gordon, Madueke, and Kane.
