A homicide investigation has been initiated following the discovery of a deceased man with severe injuries inside a karaoke establishment located in the town center.
Emergency responders swiftly arrived at Blues Cabaret and Karaoke Bar in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, at approximately 2:40 am today. The victim, a man in his thirties, was found with injuries believed to have resulted from a violent and distressing assault.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the man ceased breathing and became unresponsive, leading to his unfortunate passing at the scene at 3:48 am. Reports indicated that a man had been seriously assaulted at the bar, previously known as Olivers Bar on Bow Street.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that a man in his mid-thirties succumbed to his injuries despite emergency services’ best attempts. A 36-year-old male has been apprehended on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody, according to Manchester Evening News.
Detective Superintendent Ian McNabb of GMP expressed, “This was a brutal and appalling attack that tragically claimed the life of a young man. Our condolences are with his family and friends during this challenging period. We are actively investigating the incident and are providing support to the victim’s family while working to establish the full circumstances.”
The authorities assured the community that the incident appears to be isolated and does not pose a broader threat.
