A manhunt is underway for a father who caused a fatal crash while driving under the influence, resulting in the death of his infant daughter. Emmanuel Sakyi, aged 31, was recently convicted in his absence of causing death by dangerous driving and sentenced to 15 years in prison. The incident, which occurred in December 2022 on Bletcham Way in Milton Keynes, saw Sakyi fleeing the scene after colliding head-on with another vehicle. Tragically, his seven-month-old daughter, Emmanuela, sustained fatal injuries during the crash.
Evidence presented in court revealed that Sakyi was driving while heavily intoxicated, well above the legal alcohol limit, and displaying reckless driving behavior. Witnesses testified that Sakyi drove his vehicle on the wrong side of the road for a considerable distance before the collision occurred.
In light of the circumstances, a £7,500 reward has been offered by Crimestoppers for any information leading to the arrest of Emmanuel Sakyi. Beth Simpson, the regional manager for Crimestoppers in South Central West, emphasized the severity of the case, stating that the baby’s tragic death was a direct consequence of her father’s actions.
Individuals with information on Sakyi’s whereabouts are urged to contact Crimestoppers anonymously, as the charity aims to provide a platform for sharing crucial details without fear of repercussions. The reward will only be given for information directly provided to Crimestoppers, who can be reached by phone or through their website.
Authorities advise the public not to approach Sakyi if sighted but to immediately call emergency services.
