Six years ago today, Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi got married in a small wedding ceremony in Windsor. The event was downsized due to Covid restrictions and took place on July 17, 2020, at All Saints Chapel in Windsor Great Park, with only 20 guests in attendance.
Among the guests were Beatrice’s parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, along with the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. Beatrice wore a dress previously worn by her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, designed by Sir Norman Hartnell.
Since their marriage, Beatrice and Edo, a wealthy property developer and descendant of Italian nobility, have faced challenges due to scrutiny on Beatrice’s parents regarding their association with Jeffrey Epstein. Despite this, they have remained strong in their marriage.
Jennie Bond, a former BBC royal correspondent, mentioned that the couple has endured tough times, including the postponement and scaling down of their wedding due to the pandemic and the Epstein scandal affecting Beatrice’s family.
Recently, Beatrice and Edo were seen happily attending the wedding of Beatrice’s cousin Peter Phillips. Jennie noted that despite the challenges, the royal family continues to support Beatrice, indicating that she is not held responsible for her parents’ actions.
With busy schedules and ongoing controversies surrounding Beatrice’s parents, Jennie speculated that their anniversary celebrations might be different this year, possibly involving their children and family rather than a romantic dinner out. She expressed hope for their continued happiness and more anniversaries to come.
