Iran Halts Oil and Gas Export via Hormuz Amid US “Criminal” Attacks

Date:

Iran has declared that it will halt the export of oil and gas through the Strait of Hormuz until the United States ceases what it calls “criminal” attacks. This announcement follows a series of US airstrikes on Iran, targeting military infrastructure and causing damage in various regions, including disrupting water supply to thousands of people.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that as long as the US aggression continues, no oil, gas, or chemical fertilizers will leave the region. Despite claims by Iran of two ships hitting mines and exploding in the strait, US Central Command denied these reports. Video footage released by CENTCOM showed missile launches and airstrikes on strategic targets.

In response to the escalating tensions, both Iran and the US have taken military actions, with reports of explosions in different parts of Iran and interceptions of missiles by neighboring countries. Iran’s health ministry reported casualties from US strikes, further fueling the conflict that began months ago.

Iran’s deputy foreign minister announced the suspension of commitments to a ceasefire agreement with the US, citing the need to defend the country. President Trump’s strong rhetoric and threats of escalating attacks on Iran have intensified the situation, with no clear resolution in sight. The conflict shows no signs of abating as both sides remain at odds.
