5.9 Magnitude Quake Hits Cairo, Terrifying Residents

An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale has struck Cairo, one of the oldest major cities globally. The tremor jolted residents from their sleep in the early hours of the morning. The epicenter of the quake was located in Suez, just 25 miles away from the city center. According to the German Research Centre for Geosciences, the earthquake was later revised to a magnitude of 5.4 and occurred at a depth of six miles.
