“Discover Canada’s Summer Antique Fair Treasures”

Date:

Summer is an ideal time for exploring Canada’s outdoor antique fairs and markets, whether you’re a seasoned collector, a thrifting enthusiast, or simply seeking a fun road trip adventure. These events attract numerous respected dealers, offer a curated selection of goods, and cater to both casual browsers and serious treasure-hunters. Some even provide additional attractions like on-site food trucks to enhance the shopping experience.

Here are eight antique fairs and markets that should be on your summer agenda:

1. Aberfoyle Antique Market:
Located just south of Guelph, Ont., the Aberfoyle Antique Market, touted as the largest in Canada, is open every Sunday until October 25. With over 100 vendors offering collectibles, furniture, folk art, and more at the weekly sale, visitors can also enjoy two Saturday Special Shows each year with over 150 vendors.

2. Old Strathcona Antique Mall Parking Lot Sale:
The Old Strathcona Antique Mall in Edmonton hosts seasonal sales in its parking lot on select days during the summer. Visitors can explore vintage treasures outdoors in addition to the mall’s indoor vendors. The next sales will be on July 12, August 3, and September 7.

3. Saugeen Shores Antique & Collectible Show:
Celebrating its 48th year, this show in Southampton, Ont., on July 18 and 19 at the Southampton Coliseum will feature over 80 vendors selling vintage clothing, jewelry, advertising signs, furniture, and more.

4. Vintage Pasture Sale:
On July 18, the Vintage Pasture Sale in Langley, B.C., will showcase over 40 vendors selling vintage and antique finds at Locality Brewing. Inspired by French brocantes, the event will also feature food trucks, farm stands, and a beer garden.

5. Sussex Flea Market:
Taking place from August 14 to 16 at Princess Louise Park in Sussex, N.B., the Sussex Flea Market organized by the New Brunswick Antique Auto Club is expected to host over 800 vendors selling a wide range of items.

6. Fraser Valley Antiques & Collectibles Club Vintage Collectibles & Antiques Show:
On August 28 and 29 at Queen’s Park Arena in New Westminster, B.C., visitors can shop from over 200 booths selling vintage clothing, sports memorabilia, small furniture, and more at this annual summer show.

7. Odessa Antique Show:
The Odessa Antique Show at the Odessa Fairgrounds on August 8 and 9 will feature vendors from Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada offering furniture, toys, glassware, antique china, and more.

8. Cookstown Antique & Vintage Show:
The Cookstown Antique & Vintage Market’s upcoming event on September 12 at the Georgian Bay Steam Show Grounds in Cookstown, Ont., will include over 100 vendors set amidst grassy fields and food trucks for a complete experience.
