A Toronto police officer sustained injuries after being shot during a robbery investigation in the early hours of Thursday. Toronto police spokesperson Stephanie Miceli reported that officers were called to respond to a robbery involving a stolen e-bike. The incident occurred near Bloor Street E. and Sherbourne Street at approximately 3:21 a.m. According to Miceli, the suspect fired at one of the officers during the confrontation.
The injured officer was promptly transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening wounds. Toronto paramedics declined to provide further information and directed all inquiries to the police. Miceli confirmed that the suspect has been apprehended, and a firearm was seized at the scene. The investigation is currently ongoing.
