An alleged rape occurred during daylight hours on Saturday morning, according to reports.
West Mercia Police disclosed that the incident took place in an alleyway on The Tything between 6am and 8.30am the same morning.
Updates from authorities reveal that a 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the crime. The individual is currently in police custody while investigations are ongoing, as reported by the Sun.
Specialized officers are providing support to the victim, and law enforcement has increased its presence in the area to reassure residents and conduct further inquiries.
Detective Inspector Lisa Tibbits stated, “The community is understandably alarmed by this incident, and I want to assure the public that a comprehensive investigation is underway.
“I urge anyone with information, no matter how small it may seem, to come forward and contact the authorities.
“As part of our inquiries, we have a suspect in custody who is cooperating with our investigation.
“Additional police presence in the vicinity will support our ongoing investigations, and specialized officers are assisting the victim.”
