The Middle Ale, located adjacent to the Lidl store in Dundonald, prioritizes a zero-tolerance policy towards disorderly behavior.
The Middle Ale, which opened that day, operates as a bar and off-licence adjacent to Lidl, complying with Northern Ireland’s stringent licensing laws. Lidl navigated the licensing process by obtaining a pub license instead of an off-license due to insufficient bars in the area.
After overcoming legal challenges, Lidl secured a license for the pub, featuring an off-sales section. The pub’s name, Middle Ale, pays homage to Lidl’s renowned Middle Aisle of discounted items.
