Apple has launched its AppleCare One subscription service in the UK, following its successful debut in the US last year. This service provides British customers with a convenient and potentially cost-effective way to safeguard multiple Apple devices under a single plan.
Priced at £16.99 per month, AppleCare One offers coverage for up to three eligible devices, including iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple Watches. In the event of accidental damage, loss, or theft, Apple will either repair the device or provide up to three replacement devices per year, depending on the nature of the claim.
AppleCare One enhances the existing AppleCare+ program by extending coverage to multiple products under one subscription, eliminating the need for separate plans. This consolidation can result in significant savings for customers. For instance, individuals covering an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch could save up to £11.48 per month compared to purchasing individual AppleCare+ plans for each device.
One key advantage of AppleCare One is its flexibility in terms of device eligibility. Customers can include devices up to four years old in the plan, as long as they are in good condition. This extended timeframe surpasses the typical 60-day window for acquiring AppleCare+ after purchasing a device.
Moreover, the subscription adjusts seamlessly when upgrading devices. If a covered device is traded in and replaced directly through Apple, the old device is automatically removed from the plan, and the new device is added without any additional steps required.
Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, emphasized the customer-centric approach of AppleCare One, highlighting the simplicity and flexibility it offers to UK consumers. This streamlined service ensures peace of mind by providing comprehensive coverage for all eligible products under one plan and price.
By introducing AppleCare One to the UK market, Apple aims to deliver a user-friendly and adaptable protection service tailored to the needs of multi-device users.
