Barron Trump, the son of US President Donald Trump, was reprimanded by a 999 operator for his demeanor when he contacted UK police after a woman he knew was reportedly being assaulted, as revealed in court.
Matvei Rumiantsev, 22, is currently facing trial at London’s Snaresbrook Crown Court on charges including assault, actual bodily harm, intentional strangulation, perverting the course of justice, and two counts of rape against the woman, who is said to be friends with Barron, aged 19. Rumiantsev has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
During the trial, it was disclosed that Barron made a distress call to police upon witnessing the alleged attack on the woman via a video call on January 18, 2025. The City of London Police provided a redacted transcript of the 999 call, ensuring the victim’s anonymity as per the Crown Prosecution Service’s instructions.
In the call, Barron informed the operator that a woman was being physically harmed at a specific location, stressing the urgency of the situation. Despite the operator’s attempts to gather information, Barron’s focus remained on the victim’s safety rather than providing personal details. After a brief exchange, the operator urged Barron to cooperate and answer questions clearly to aid in the response efforts.
The conversation highlighted Barron’s concern for the victim’s well-being, emphasizing the need for immediate intervention due to the severity of the situation. The operator guided Barron through the information-sharing process to ensure the proper response and assistance for the victim.
