US doctor Mehmet Oz revealed that President Donald Trump believes diet soda can eliminate cancer cells in the body. Dr. Oz, who serves as the Administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, shared this information during a podcast conversation with Donald Trump Jr.
Despite Trump’s assertion, there is no scientific backing to support the claim that diet soda can combat cancer. This is not the first instance where Trump’s dietary choices have come under scrutiny from close associates.
US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Junior criticized the president’s eating habits, labeling them as the most “unhinged” within his administration. Kennedy highlighted Trump’s fondness for fast food, particularly mentioning his regular consumption of McDonald’s, candy, and Diet Coke.
Kennedy noted that Trump’s preference for junk food increases when he is traveling, as he trusts food from major corporations and believes it keeps him healthy. However, Kennedy mentioned that Trump opts for healthier options when at Mar-a-Lago or the White House.
In a related incident, it was reported that Trump customized his own McDonald’s “super-burger” during his 2024 campaign trail, combining items like a Filet-o-Fish, Quarter Pounder, and Big Mac. This excessive intake of processed foods has been associated with chronic conditions like diabetes and obesity, which contradicts the goals of Trump and Kennedy’s initiative “Make America Healthy Again.”
