The identities of a British couple who perished in the Spanish wildfires, among other casualties, have been disclosed along with their photographs.
Pete and Fran Gillam, residents of Bédar, a severely impacted village, were among the 13 individuals who lost their lives in the devastating fires that swept through the southern region of Spain, as confirmed by the couple’s daughter.
The couple had been unaccounted for since Thursday evening when Fran messaged her daughter around 7pm to inform her that they were evacuating. Subsequently, all communication was lost as attempts to reach either parent via messages and calls proved futile.
Taking to Facebook, Danielle Gillam-Kirton expressed, “We are devastated to announce that the authorities have confirmed that Mum and Dad did not survive the fire.
“We appreciate all the love, support, and prayers we have received in the past few days. Your kindness means the world to us.”
