Additionally, 22 individuals are in critical condition in hospitals following the blaze at the Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao bar.
The catastrophic event unfolded as a group of patrons were gathered outside the bar before thick smoke suddenly billowed from the entrance, swiftly followed by a fierce burst of flames. Panic ensued as people attempted to flee amidst the intense heat and thick black smoke.
Despite the chaos, a brave individual tried to combat the fire using a fire extinguisher before emergency services arrived. Terrifying images captured patrons desperately fleeing as flames engulfed the front of the bar, with dark smoke spiraling into the sky.
Following the incident, charred remnants of furniture were visible inside the bar as emergency responders assessed the damage. Reports indicated that many individuals sought refuge in bathrooms at the back of the bar during the initial outbreak of the fire, where a significant number of casualties were discovered.
Authorities reported that at least 63 people sustained injuries in the blaze, with initial investigations pointing to a possible short circuit in an air conditioner as the cause.
