Body Found in Car Trunk Near Iran’s World Cup Training Center

Date:

Local authorities in Mexico have reported the discovery of a body wrapped in a black bag inside a car trunk near Iran’s World Cup training center. The unsettling finding occurred in a supermarket parking lot across from the Caliente Stadium in Tijuana. The abandoned vehicle had emitted a strong odor, prompting officials to investigate.

The Tijuana prosecutor’s office disclosed that a body was found in a gray Toyota SUV’s trunk, believed to have been there since the previous Wednesday. The individual was wrapped in a black bag and showed signs of violence, as per reports from Mirror US.

The victim’s identity has not been released, and authorities are actively investigating the circumstances of the incident. Meanwhile, preparations at the training base, which is also the home of the Mexican team Club Tijuana, are ongoing as the team gears up for their upcoming matches.

Initially planning to train in Arizona, Iran had to switch its base to Mexico due to visa and travel restrictions. The team will travel to the United States for their World Cup games. In Group G, Iran is set to compete against Belgium, Egypt, and New Zealand in hopes of advancing to the knockout rounds. Recently, the Iranian Football Federation issued a statement expressing disappointment after fans were informed of revoked ticket allocations for the tournament.
