A flight operated by British Airways traveling from Barbados to London was called off due to allegations that crew members had consumed alcohol excessively at a hotel shortly before the scheduled departure time. The affected Flight BA254 was supposed to depart from Bridgetown at 4.25 pm local time on Sunday and land at London Heathrow at 6.15 am on Monday, impacting around 336 passengers.
According to reports from the Press Association, several British Airways crew members have been suspended pending an investigation. The Sun detailed that the crew had engaged in a drinking session involving vodka and beer at the hotel before the flight, resulting in one female crew member vomiting and a male colleague collapsing.
The incident reportedly occurred at an unnamed ocean-front hotel known for being popular among honeymooners. Witnesses at the hotel supposedly recorded the crew members, with one individual allegedly declaring, “We’re British Airways crew, what of it?”
A spokesperson for British Airways stated, “We demand the highest standards from our crew, and we are actively looking into this incident.”
