Authorities are currently conducting an extensive search for a British vacationer who has been missing for three days.
Iain Stanley, aged 79, was last observed close to the Perla Marina Hotel in Nerja, situated on the eastern part of the Costa del Sol in Spain, on February 11. He vanished after departing a vacation residence, with the final sighting occurring around 2 pm on that day.
His spouse reported his disappearance on Thursday, prompting the Civil Guard to launch an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
A taxi driver was interrogated by investigators after indicating that he may have transported a person matching Stanley’s description to the neighboring town of Torrox. However, authorities have determined that this lead was not valid.
Mr. Stanley, described as being in good health, was dressed in black jeans, a shirt, and a blue jacket at the time he was last seen, without his mobile phone or passport.
The news of his disappearance has spread through various local expatriate Facebook groups, with family members also seeking information on his current location.
As of this afternoon, the specific location in the UK where Mr. Stanley resides was not immediately disclosed. One individual who assisted by sharing the appeal on social media mentioned that Stanley was on a two-month vacation in Nerja.

Susan Hornsby, 76, from Dorset, was reported missing after disappearing while out for a hike on the island with her husband Peter.
In an urgent online plea, concerned Louise Bakewell sought help in locating her missing relative, stating her last known location and clothing details. After a long search, Hornsby was eventually located and rescued from the ravine, with Bakewell expressing immense relief at the positive outcome.
Louise Bakewell later updated the Facebook group dedicated to missing persons in Tenerife, confirming that Hornsby had been found alive and was being airlifted to a medical facility.
Expressing gratitude for the assistance received, Bakewell emphasized the importance of enabling tracking features on mobile devices for safety reasons.
