“British Woman Detained in Dubai Returns Home After Year-Long Ordeal”

Date:

After enduring a year-long ordeal, a British recruitment consultant who was detained in Dubai on suspected drug-related charges has returned to the UK, as confirmed by her family.

Isabella Daggett, a 22-year-old from Leeds, was reportedly arrested shortly after relocating from Yorkshire to commence a new job in the United Arab Emirates. Her family maintains that she was apprehended unjustly and has no history of involvement with narcotics.

Although Isabella was imprisoned last March, the specific charges she faced were not disclosed by UAE authorities, leaving her family uninformed about the allegations against her for a considerable period.

Fast forward to the present, a family acquaintance has disclosed that she has been released and returned home last week. According to the acquaintance speaking to MailOnline, “She’s only just been released – it’s been a whole year of hell. Everyone thought she would be straight on a plane home as soon as the charges were dropped in January, because that should have been the end of it.

“But then came this £3,000 visa overstay fine, which absolutely stunk. It felt like one last kick in the teeth after everything she’d already been through. There’s just huge relief now. They’ve got her back. That’s all they wanted.”

Previously, Isabella’s grandmother, Heather Smith, informed DailyMail that Isabella was enduring harsh conditions in prison but was able to maintain regular contact with her family. She stated: “She hasn’t had a shower for a month, she hasn’t had a change of clothes for three months. She has had nothing
