“Calgary Boy Saved from Drowning Suffers Lung Damage”

A young boy from Calgary who was saved from drowning in a river in British Columbia is currently recovering in a hospital, with his family revealing that his lungs have sustained significant damage. Nine-year-old Paul-Angelo Warren was enjoying a swim and dive in the Shuswap River near Enderby on August 3 when he failed to resurface after going underwater. Maria Warren, his mother, recounted how bystanders at the beach acted swiftly, managing to retrieve him from the water shortly after he disappeared. According to an official statement from the RCMP, the boy was trapped against submerged deadwood due to the river’s strong current before he was rescued and administered CPR upon reaching the shore. Authorities estimate that he may have been submerged for up to 10 minutes. Presently, the child is being cared for at Vancouver Children’s Hospital, where his family remains by his side. Maria expressed her constant presence beside him, emphasizing her desire for him to wake up and see her immediately, while being comforted by her voice.
