This victory also secured Canada’s spot at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, where flag football will debut as an event.
Reflecting on the game, Tachinski described the experience as indescribable and surreal, emphasizing the emotional impact of the pivotal interception. He expressed his speechlessness and excitement about the upcoming opportunity to represent Canada at the Olympics, highlighting the unique atmosphere of the Olympic Village.
Additionally, Canada’s women’s team achieved Olympic qualification by defeating the U.S. 27-20 in an unbeaten streak, with quarterback Sara Parker earning the tournament’s Most Valuable Player title.
