Thick plumes of black smoke were observed billowing over a bustling town center earlier today following an apparent explosion involving a camper van.
The smoke was visible above the town of Crewe as the sky darkened during the afternoon hours. Witnesses reported that a van had exploded in the area, with one eyewitness mentioning that their brother witnessed the smoke rising from the scene.
Another witness described hearing a loud bang and seeing a camper van engulfed in flames, although it was believed to have been extinguished by that time.
The smoke was spotted rising above Alexandra’s Mornflake Stadium on Gresty Road, where Crewe was engaged in a match against Harrogate Town this afternoon, according to reports from StokeonTrentLive.
