Notorious convict Charles Bronson is aiming for a shot at 25 years of freedom through a new parole application on the horizon. The seasoned armed robber is hopeful that by the age of 75, he could be transitioning to a probation hostel, setting the stage for a full release.
At 73 years old and having endured over five decades behind bars, Bronson is resolute in his desire not to spend his final days incarcerated. His next parole hearing is slated for November, with Bronson expressing cautious optimism about the outcome. He emphasized the need for progression post-parole, anticipating reintegration into society with the opportunity for home visits, categorization changes, and hostel accommodation.
Although acknowledging the slim chance of release this year, Bronson is determined to build on recent advancements. A potential release at 75 would offer him a quarter-century of liberty, contrasting starkly with his long confinement. This prospect presents a newfound lease on life for the inmate who has been notoriously violent throughout his incarceration.
A Parole Board spokesperson confirmed that an oral hearing has been scheduled for Charles Salvador (formerly Charles Bronson) in November 2026. The parole assessment will focus on the potential risk to public safety posed by his release and the feasibility of managing this risk in the community.
Bronson’s criminal record dates back to 1974 when he was imprisoned for armed robbery and assault at 22. Despite a brief stint as a boxer post-release in 1987, he was incarcerated again the following year for another robbery. His subsequent violent behavior towards inmates and staff has solidified his reputation as one of Britain’s most aggressive prisoners.
Bronson, now known as Charles Salvador, is currently incarcerated at Monster Mansion, HMP Wakefield, a facility housing some of the country’s most dangerous offenders. Despite his tumultuous past, Bronson remains optimistic about the possibility of a fresh start outside the prison walls.
