Two youngsters were swiftly taken to the hospital following a mishap where they fell from a balcony at a residence in southeast Ireland. The incident occurred in Waterford on Friday, March 20, when a glass panel on the side of the balcony dislodged. A three-year-old boy plummeted approximately 20 feet, as per The Irish Mirror’s report. The boy’s seven-year-old sister also tumbled while trying to prevent her brother from falling.
Both siblings were promptly transported to University Hospital Waterford after the unfortunate falls. Authorities from Gardaí collaborated with other agencies to respond to the medical emergency at the complex. A Garda spokesperson mentioned that they were involved in aiding other agencies in addressing the situation at a residential property in Mount Suir, Waterford, just before 11 am on Friday, March 20, 2026.
Waterford City and County Council have initiated a formal inquiry into the incident. An Garda Síochána stated that they do not possess any additional details regarding the occurrence.
