The public heroically stepped in to assist the victims severely hurt by a car that struck pedestrians in Derby at approximately 9:30 pm on a Saturday. Following the disturbing incident involving a Suzuki Swift, a significant police investigation has been initiated, with the support of counter-terror officers.
CCTV footage from a nearby store displays individuals walking on the street before the collision. Subsequently, the public can be seen anxiously glancing down the street, then rushing to aid the victims. In Friar Gate, a city center street, a car collided with pedestrians, resulting in multiple injuries. The injured were promptly treated at the scene before being transferred to Royal Derby Hospital and Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. A 36-year-old man, originally from India but residing in the UK for several years, was swiftly apprehended and arrested on suspicion of various charges including attempted murder, dangerous driving causing serious injury, and inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent. The suspect remains in police custody, having been apprehended seven minutes after the incident near Pride Park.
